Sun and slides
The park. That's our destination most of the weekends. If there is nothing else to do, and even on the days when there are other things to do, we go to the park. As long as it is not raining, that's where we are. Because as far as my little girl is concerned, the park is the best thing in the world.
There are the swings, which she loved but now refuses to go in. There are the roundabouts, which she walks in, and as soon as you spin it, walks out again. There are the little scooters and bikes that belong to other kids, but are irresistible to a tiny little toddler monkey.
Then there are the slides, that are just about the most wonderful thing our little girl could dream of.
The slides - she could go on the slides again and again and again, for hours on end. Up and down. Up and down. Again and again. And the bigger the better. As a mummy I am always worried she might fall off, but she, she couldn't care less when she feels the wind in her hair and the sinking feeling in her tummy. She runs up to it, swings and tries to get some speed and off and down she goes, as fast as she can (and scaredy-cat mummy lets her).
We had a lovely day in the park. The sun was shining, the air was fresh, the playground was filled with shrieks of joy and excitement, and our little girl was ecstatic. Running around, climbing up, sliding down, smiling. Can't get any better than that.
How was your weekend?
Gorgeous photos. We often head to the park at weekends too. And I usually get at least one trip in during the week at this time of year. The kids are funny with the playground, one week they love the swings, the next week they don't want a bar of them. My daughter is like yours though, can't get enough of the slide! X
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I don't know what it is with those slides.. My little one just won't stay away from them. The whole time it is just up and down.
DeleteIt is lovely though going to the park, getting some fresh air, always makes me feel nice and perked up. My husband goes out with her pretty much every day if it is not raining, and then we go out together in the weekend. So yeah, we go to the park a lot I guess too :)
You can see the absolute joy in your daughter's face in your lovely photos! When we lived in London we also went nearly every day to the park too.
ReplyDeleteShe is exhilarated! And truly loving it :)
DeleteWe are lucky that there are plenty of parks and some nice woods nearby us, either a short walk or a short car ride away. Can always get some nice fresh air.
Parks are great for toddlers aren't they? I find it strange how one moment they love swings and the next, refuses to go on, my youngest is the same. I don't blame you for being a scaredy cat, my eldest fell out of a slide... and nursed a he bruise for weeks. Lovely photos, my weekend last week was summed up on my #countrykids post too :-) This weekend is all about the mums, and getting them together for a big roast dinner.
ReplyDeletePoor thing - lucky nothing worse happened! I am just so worried because she keeps on going to the big kids slide, and it is big. I mean it is about 1.7cm high at the top, and if she fell, well it would be the equivalent of me falling from the first floor. Could easily get broken bones.
DeleteHope you had a lovely Mother's Day and a tasty roast :) We went for a brekkie and were so stuffed skipped lunch altogether :)
Your little one sounds like she's going to be a bit of a daredevil as she gets older. The park is the best place in the world for toddlers, so many exciting things to enjoy. I love the first photo as she runs across the park, I'm guessing it's towards the slide? I'm glad you had a great time, thanks for linking up with me on CountryKids.
ReplyDeleteOh she most definitely is a little daredevil, making m quite worried sometimes :) Apparently I was a bit of a daredevil too as a kid (and a little bit as an adult too I suppose :D).
DeleteI do love going to the park with her, she just gets so much joy out of it, it is lovely to watch. Thanks for hosting :)
Goodness when my son is at the same age we are a playground fixture! And kids never outgrow playgrounds esp slides and swings. I still love swings! #countrykids
ReplyDeleteI was a big fan of swings, and merry-go-rounds as a kid - now both make me somewhat nauseous :D Glad I don't have to do too much now, just supervise the little one doing them. It is a fun age now, everything is exciting and the park provides endless entertainment. I suppose for a few years still so we'll be regular fixtures there too :)
DeleteYou can't beat the park...its free and chikdren love it. I think they're brilliant because there's always different equipment at every park
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer - you ended up in my spam box for ages, sorry! There is certainly lots of variety in the park - my little monkey is obsessed with slides atm but hopefully in the future we'll do other stuff too :)
