3.3 miles of a forest
3.3 miles doesn't sound that long does it. Well, it isn't really, unless you are about a meter high and toddling on your short little legs following mummy around.
When we went out, I didn't anticipate going for a toddler-sized mini-marathon. I imagined we will go to a park, find some puddles, jump about a bit, pop down the woods and go back home. But the lure of the green paths, muddy paths, and humming trees was a bit too much and she kept on pulling me towards the path, further and further away from home. We just followed along the path, enjoying the sunshine and the scenery. We saw lots of dogs, a few sheep and some ducks.
We did a BIG loop around the forest and through the park. To be exact, a 3.3 mile of a loop. At the last leg of the journey we had to stop a few times to have some little moments of rest, sitting in the tree shade. To be honest, it wasn't just her, I also needed that little sit-down moment. The journey took us a couple of hours. The last few hundreds of meters I had to carry her, poor little girl.
You can imagine that she had one GIANT nap that day!

What is the longest walk you have taken with your kids?
Well done to your little lady, that is brilliant! Zach currently gets about five minutes down the road then wants a carry haha! He definitely wouldn't do 3.3 miles! Lovely photos :) #countrykids
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised she managed to get this far, she walks a lot but this was quite exceptional :)
DeleteAnd well, maybe Zach is just wanting cuddles and mummy time, I know my little one gets like that sometimes, not wanting to walk as she wants to cuddle instead :)
Wow, that is a good walk and lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI always think we've gone miles and then look at my fitbit and realise it's only a couple of kilometres. We walked most of our trip to London the other day, and that was about 3.5km. Seemed longer because of the time it takes with a small child.
Yeah it does take a while with kids to walk around (must be those little legs!). I find it always is a long walk whenever we go to central London, you have to walk loads between the attractions and the transport, it quickly adds up.
DeleteWhat a massive walk for such little legs, well done to your little girl for making it so far! I love the shot of her pulling your arm, it proves just how excited she was to get going on your adventure. Nature walks are always high on kids list of fun things to do, she looks so interested in investigating all the things she's finding. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteHa ha yeah she was excited, and partly, I think she was getting fed up with me taking pictures and wanted us to move on! :D Part and parcel of having a blogging mummy I suppose :) It was lovely walking in the woods, I think we'll have to do another repeat soon :)
DeleteShe looks so adorable in her wellies! She walked a lot and look at how happy she is all the way through =) #countrykids
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I do love some good wellies (these were a gift from Muddy Puddles) and I will be writing about them in the future too :)
DeleteI have honestly noidea how far my children have walked, but I think even now at 5 and 6 they'd start to complain at 3 miles - she did incredibly well, and what a beautiful walk too! :)
ReplyDeleteI was surprised when I checked our route online and got the distance... It was worth it though as it is so beautiful and nice.
DeleteShe looks so adorable. Well done to her and all her walking. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I was well impressed by her stamina :)
DeleteOhhh she is so cute.

Thank you, what a sweet thing to say :)
DeleteShe certainly wears out her Nanny some days too! She is great fun to be with.
ReplyDeleteHa ha she is, and wear us out too! It is quite incredible how much energy and pep she has! Just incredible :)
DeleteWow, she did really well and I bet she had an epic nap after too ;) The furthest I've checked my eldest has walked is almost a mile but I don't usually pay much attention. Loving her dress btw! x
ReplyDeleteI don't usually pay too much attention either, but since this was an unusually long one, I checked the route on an app later, and was quite surprised by the length! She did nap very well that day :D And thanks, we very recently got her that dress :)
DeleteAh love this, the photos are so cute. We did about the same length walk with the kiddies on Sunday and they really enjoyed it. We had a big dinner afterwards and they slept well Sunday night. Its great getting out and exploring like that.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It is lovely going out for these long walks, you see so much and you really knacker them out as well. Sounds like you had a fab weekend, nice and relaxing family time :)
DeleteAaah these are such lovely pics!!! And that is absolutely MILES for a tiny little person with short legs!! Well done that girl!! :) xx

Thank you :) I was so impressed by her, what stamina! I mean, walking a comparable distance for an adult would be pretty tiresome :)
DeleteWOW! That is a long way and I think I would need a nap then too :) Cute, lovely photographs xx
ReplyDeleteHa ha yeah I felt like a lie-down after that - especially as it was a really hot day! And thanks :)
DeleteWow, that's brilliant! I don't we've waled quite that far with our youngest, but the boys have done some good distances recently :) Lovely walk, and I love your photos x (a very, very late visit from #countrykids!)
