Our Easter Egg hunt in the woods

We have had one chocotastic Easter... Our hyperactive little bunny hoppity hop has truly enjoyed the eggcitement of this spring time. There has been countless of chocolate gifts received from family, friends and neighbours, lots of bunnies all over the house and we have even been to see newborn lambs at our local farm.

Last year we had an Egg Hunt at Nanny's house, this year we decided to set one up for our toddler at a nearby forest. Because what better way to spend a Easter Sunday morning than wondering at the woods, looking for bunnies and chocolate eggs? We woke up to beautiful sunshine, and raced to the woods before the dark stormy clouds the weather forecast was talking about would descend on us. While daddy distracted the little toddler bunny, mummy sprinkled her bunnytastic magic all over the daffodil fields and tried to get her camera ready for the very excited little girl...

"Chocolate eeeeeeegggggsssssss!" she screamed as soon as she spotted the first pink flash...

We just about managed to collect all the eggs before the skies opened and the thunder came raging in. Luckily by that point we were inside the car, off back home for a hot cup of milk with some chocolate eggs, cuddling on the sofa... OK, who am I kidding? It was more like parents plopped on the sofa watching a chocolate-fuelled raging threenager running in laps across the living room demanding more chocolate to go with her milk.... It was fun though!

How was your Easter? Eggtasticly fun too?

    1. Ha ha we were lucky - once we were driving back it was gale force winds and heavy heavy rain :D just looks a bit cloudy in these pictures, you wouldn't think a storm was coming!

  4. What a fab idea, I'd never thought of going somewhere away from home to search for Easter Eggs. It creates some beautiful shots too with your little lady hunting for all the magical chocolate in the daffodils I bet it was so magical for her when she spotted the first chocolate egg hidden between the spring flowers. She looks like she had a great time hunting for and eating her chocolate! Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.

    1. It was absolutely wonderful, and quite magical too, well, at least parents I think. She was just interested in the chocolate eggs!

I think for you, you have lovely grounds at home. For us, as we live in London our garden is smallish to begin with, and unfortunately very uninspiring... It was paved over by the previous owner so no places to hide eggs in I'm afraid :D

    1. It is lovely - and we go there every once In a while as it is a beautiful place to go for walks. It is one of those ancient forests so there is a lot to see!

  6. Gorgeous photos and a great way to get out and go somewhere different for a hunt. We never have one on the farm because the dogs are always out so we'd need to put out fake eggs or pictures.

    1. Ha ha you say that - there were quite a few dog walkers over here too. Who did tell us they will guard their dogs so they won't eat her eggs :D but yes, I've heard chocolate can be poisonous to dogs too, so you have to be really careful!

    1. Thanks for hosting! It was quite fun trying to accessorise her for the hunt as well - she wasn't too keen at first with the ears and wanted her daddy to wear them (ha ha imagine that!) :D

  8. Easter morning was really bad in here. Full of rains and stormy so I hid the eggs inside the house. My son still enjoyed it and of course he ate lots of the said eggs.

I wish we were able to go to a trail hunt or just have the egg activity outside like yours cuz it sure looks more fun!

    1. Easter morning was really bright and sunny but it turned quick and a few hours later was stormy! Was glad we managed to have the hunt outside considering the weather. Shame you didn't get to go outside - bit I bet the kids loved it all the same! After all, it is chocolate :)
