Visiting Farnham Castle
While we were visiting Surrey for a friends wedding we popped by some local sights. A few hours to spare we decided to do a quick run up to Farnham to see Farnham Castle. It was actually a perfect spot to pop by quickly. It was free (bonus!), relatively small so you could see absolutely everything in less than an hour, and gorgeous views all over Farnham.
The grounds were really beautiful. Lots of green, some little hideaway places, and gorgeous flowers. The scenery was beautiful and as castles usually are, it was situated at the highest point on a hill so you could see all of Farnham. So we walked around and enjoyed the sights and once it started raining we went down to the village for a babyccino.
Here is a little video from the day - I think I have caught the home-video bug and might try my hand at vlogging... What do you think of the video?
Ever been to Farnham Castle? And please do recommend another castle nearby London - we would love to visit some new ones!

It looks like you had a great day. I love that last one of your daughter, between all the flowers, she looks really cute.
ReplyDeleteI loved the video. I am a bit tempted by the vlogging myself but it's hard enough to keep up with the blogging so not sure I could cope with anything else!
Thank you - I love that picture!
DeleteVlogging takes A LOT of time. It is a lot of fun, but gosh, when I used to think blogging is time-consuming, vlogging is something else! Takes ages to edit a short video like that. I might just try do it once a week, or even less...
it looks nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was really pretty :)

ReplyDeleteIt was a gorgeous location, but so small it was manageable with kids :) I think all kids love castles, don't they? They really get your imagination going.
DeleteWe went to Farnham Castle the other day and had fun in the park below the grounds next to the golf course! Looks like you had a great adventure! The views are lovely there X #CityTripping #Whatevertheweather
ReplyDeleteHow funny we both have been there recently! We had such a quick visit we didn't manage to check much of the surroundings, but views were gorgeous :)

ReplyDeleteThey are, and I am really looking forward to visiting more of them in the future!
DeleteWhat a lovely little castle and it looks like a perfect distance for little legs to travel too. I love the photo of Daddy explaining what I imagine to be how to fire a bow and arrow from the top and what beautiful views from up there. All in a lovely day and a great video too. Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
ReplyDeleteHa ha it was fun and we loved explaining her all about castles. I am not sure how much she actually understood about it all, but she did seem to have fun anyway. Thanks for hosting :)
DeleteI grew up near Farnham and never knew that it had a castle! Looks like an interesting place to explore - will have to add it to the list and try and make a detour next time I visit my family. Glad you enjoyed your day out there :-)
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Well, maybe it is because it really is quite small and I think it is mainly used for commercial events, so it isn't a big sightseeing place. It was pretty though so I would recommend popping by next time you are around there :)
DeleteAh lovely castle and beautiful grounds! Looked like you all had fun. The video is great, you should definitely give vlogging a go! Thanks for joining in with #MyFavouriteTrip Polly x
ReplyDeleteHa I just wish it didn't take so much damn time - vlogging is soooo time consuming!
