Our sunny day at the Lee Valley Park Farm
We had lots of fun spotting all the different animals. There were horses, goats, sheep, chicken, owls, falcons, mongoose, cows and bunnies. All kinds, and we got some pretty close encounters!
Those weren't the only animals we saw...
The reason we visited it was because the farm had set up a Paw Patrol day and with a little pup fan in our house, it the felt like a good idea. Well, it wasn't such a great idea when we realised we had to queue over an hour with other little pups... So daddy queued and we ran around the play area while waiting.
Eventually we got to see Paw Patrol - both Chase and Marshall. My normally quite boisterous and social three year old was so star struck she didn't know what to do with herself. She was all quiet, muted and nervous, staring at her idols. After a bit of coaxing and making sure she was looking at the camera I got snapping.
It was nice visiting a working farm like this - our daughter being the city girl she is, she doesn't really see animals much. Lee Valley Park Farm is not too long a drive from ours, so easy to get to, and has a lot of things to see and do - lots of animals and lots of play areas too!
Have you visited any working farms?

What a beautiful day. Lovely to be able to feed the animals. Glad your girl managed to muster the courage to meet her idols. I bet she will love looking back at those photos. #CountyKids
ReplyDeleteShe has loved seeing these pictures, she is such a big fan :) I'm glad I managed to get a few pictures as it was really busy :)
DeleteThe farm looks great, and I love all your photos. Not sure I would fancy queuing an hour to see the Paw Patrol characters but it's going to be worth it to see their faces isn't it?!

Ah, the queue was ridiculous. Thankfully there was two of us, so only one had to queue - there were lots of dads standing around that day! :D
DeleteGorgeous photos. I love her hair.
ReplyDeleteComing over from #CountryKids x
Thank you so much :)
DeleteGorgeous photos! It looks like a lovely farm, I bet it is quite close to us too! These special things always have such massive queues attached though don't they? But good plan to leave daddy queuing while you went to play! #CountryKids
ReplyDeleteIt was a crazy queue that day - although to be honest, I heard that in the morning you got to see the pups nearly with no waiting. I think at afternoon it was just ridiculously busy.
DeleteIt looks rather like a version of Coombe Mill here! A great place to have near you for animal visiting and they look really well set up for young children too. I love the idea of the fun day with Paw Patrol, I'm sure this was a huge success with everyone if a little scary being so tall! Gorgeous photos and oh how miss the t shirts of summer now!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
Yeah I can imagine it is the same idea, although at this farm you can't stay overnight, it is just a day attraction. I think the pups were a main attraction for many that day - it was heaving! :)
DeleteWell this looks like a lovely farm but oh man my kids would love to meet the paw patrol, so I can imagine how happy your little lady was, even if she was a little starstruck! Xx #countrykids
ReplyDeleteShe was sooooo excited! I was a little excited too after being subjected to many many hours of Paw Patrol :D
DeleteNice that inner city areas set up farms. Living in the countryside as we do we take animals for granted. Nice added attraction with Paw Patrol
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine work at Lee Valley Camp Site for a few years so I recognise the name of the area. #countrykids
There are inner city area farms too (Hackney farm springs to mind) but this is actually near Lee Valley Park, so it is already countryside :) Never been to the campsite though :)
DeleteAww, my youngest would be so excited to see Paw Patrol! That looks like a really lovely farm and the animals looked well cared for. #countrykids
